International Human Rights Day 14 Days of Advocacy, Day 4
Day 4: Contact your representatives in Congress and urge them to support bills working against human trafficking using the link below! In FY21, we provided services to over 370 survivors of trafficking and victims of crime. These numbers are staggering and it’s important to get involved to help change them.

Day 5: Let’s be real, we all know searching for a job can be tough (especially with new cultural norms and expectations). You can make that experience better for a newly arrived refugee by helping them update their resume! Contact our Employer Relations Coordinators to get started.

December Saturday Book Club: The Ungrateful Refugee
Join us on Saturday, December 4th at 10:00AM CST for our Saturday Book Club featuring The Ungrateful Refugee with author Dina Nayeri.
"Aged eight, Dina Nayeri fled Iran along with her mother and brother, and lived in the crumbling shell of an Italian hotel-turned–refugee camp. Eventually she was granted asylum in America. She settled in Oklahoma, then made her way to Princeton. In this book, Nayeri weaves together her own vivid story with the stories of other refugees and asylum seekers in recent years, bringing us inside their daily lives and taking us through the different stages of their journeys, from escape to asylum to resettlement.
...With surprising and provocative questions, The Ungrateful Refugee recalibrates the conversation around the refugee experience. Here are the real human stories of what it is like to be forced to flee your home, and to journey across borders in the hope of starting afresh."
We'll start our Saturday Book Club with a Q&A with Dina Nayeri, lead by RST's Development Director Ashley Faye, and break into smaller community groups after to dive into a deeper discussion about The Ungrateful Refugee.
