Embracing Diverse Cultures in Trauma Assessment and Treatment

  • Muslim Community Center for Human Services 7600 Glenview Drive Richland Hills, TX, 76180 United States (map)

"Cultural competence" is a term we hear repeatedly in our field, but what does it truly mean? How does one become competent, if at all? Is "cultural competence" even the right word to describe the level of understanding we want to develop for clients with a very different background from us? Join us on Thursday, August 30th from 12 pm - 2 pm to learn more about this subject, specifically focusing on the intersecting populations that our agency works with: refugees, Arabs, South Asians, Muslims, and several other minority communities that many in the social services field are sadly misinformed about. Tickets are limited; sign up at your earliest convenience to reserve your spot! Light refreshments will be served.

If you want CEU's, bring $25 the day of the event and 2 CEU's will be provided upon completion.
