Virtual Vigil for Family Unity

  • The Episcopal Public Policy Network 110 Maryland Ave NE, # 309 Washington D.C. 20002 (map)

As a response to recent news about family separation, join us on Thursday, June 21st, for an hour-long virtual vigil on Facebook Live from 12:00pm-1:00pm EDT. This virtual vigil will happen while we host a vigil in person on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., on the longest day of the year, in recognition of the fact that any day children are separated from their parents is too long. This virtual vigil will be a space for prayer, reflection, education and action on immigration issues and asylum.
Ways to participate:
1. Tune in on Facebook live on The Episcopal Public Policy Network
2. Submit prayers via social media to be read at the vigil.
3. Engage on Social Media with #KeepFamiliesTogether.
4. Take action on family separation and asylum action using the action alert from The Episcopal Public Policy Networkhttps://advocacy.episcopalchurch.org/app/write-a-letter?3&engagementId=469653
5. Start a vigil of your own in your parish.

If you are in the D.C. area, you're welcome to drop in for the in-person vigil on Thursday, June 21st, from 9:00am EDT to sunset (about 8:45pm EDT) at the United Methodist Building Chapel, 100 Maryland Ave. NE Washington, DC.
