The Muslim Community and allies will come together to stand against hate, bigotry and violence by practicing peace and good deeds, as is always done during the holy month of Ramadan.
Since this is the month when Muslims are encouraged to become aware of the suffering of those less fortunate, we ask that you bring a donation item to the 9:30 AM press conference at the Governor's Mansion (see below for details of what to bring). After collecting the donations, we will march together to the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH) to deliver the gifts.
POSSIBLE ITEMS TO BRING: New M and F white socks and underwear, travel-sized shampoo and body lotion, disposable razors, shaving cream (regular size cans or travel-sized), deodorant (full-sized), backpacks or small rolling suitcases (new or gently used), local bus day passes and tote bags.
CAN'T MAKE IT OUT SATURDAY, OR GET ITEMS TO DONATE IN TIME? NO PROBLEM! Follow this link to make a donation to ARCH on behalf of Muslim Solidarity ATX and our broader Austin community:
Of course, you can also donate online AND onsite, and we welcome folks to come even if they can't make a contribution at this time. Power in numbers!
