Friends of Refugee Services of Texas,
It is with great sadness that we must announce after 45 years of operation that Refugee
Services of Texas has closed its doors. Due to a severe budget shortfall, we were unable to
maintain operations and had to make the difficult decision to shut down.
RST resettled more than 26,000 refugees and served many survivors of human trafficking over
the years as the largest agency of its kind in Texas. We wish to thank the hundreds of staff,
volunteers, donors, and community partners who gave so much of themselves to help the
world’s most vulnerable people find safety for themselves and their families in Texas. Countless
families and second and third generations have directly benefited from your contributions.
We encourage you to continue helping refugees and victims of human trafficking by partnering
with humanitarian agencies who are doing important work in your area.
