RST Amarillo has a large English as a Second Language program that offers multiple classes based on proficiency levels. Held at Margaret Wills and the Amarillo service center, classes are taught by certified teachers with assistance from volunteers.
Interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT) works with RST Austin to provide ESL classes to help refugees integrate into the local community. iACT holds several different levels of classes at the Central Presbyterian Church. Clients also have access to a monthly education and lunch encounter to help them meet with others in the Austin community. Additionally, both Hyatt and Omni Hotels in Downtown Austin train their employees (many of whom are RST clients) in ESL.
Community partners are integral to the Dallas English as a Second Language program. Classes are run in conjunction with the Northwest Community Center in Vickery Meadow, and Kessler Park Methodist Church in the south Dallas neighborhood of Oak Cliff. Students have multiple class options to attend each week.
At RST Houston, English as a Second Language classes are run in partnership with the Bilingual Education Institute (BEI). Assessment of clients' English speaking and writing skills and classes for all levels are offered on-site and in the community through BEI.
