Refugee Services of Texas offers both semester and summer internships in a variety of locations and programs. These positions change throughout the year so please check back often.

Employment Program Internship
Austin

Posted for Summer 2016: Internship duties consist of assisting newly arrived individuals with social services, cultural orientation, job development, and community integration.  Intern may assist clients in applying for jobs, going to job interviews, or other services related to helping refugee clients find employment and attain self-sufficiency in the United States. Social Adjustment Services Internship
Austin

Refugee Services of Texas, Inc. in Austin is seeking a well-organized and culturally sensitive intern to join its dynamic team full-time in its Austin office. Social Adjustment Services (SAS) offers extended case management to refugees and other immigrants to help with the process of cultural adjustment and to assist with social service navigation. It is a great opportunity for anyone interested broadening their knowledge of world populations. EDUCATION PROGRAM INTERNSHIP
DALLAS & Fort Worth

The Education Program Intern will work closely with the Education Program Supervisor in updating case files, working with clients on intake, conducting literacy assessments, and assisting with house calls to students. Interns must be willing to learn about Refugee Services of Texas, local operations of the organization, and refugee clients and their cultures.  Interns must be sensitive to the cultural and personality differences of clients and be aware of the proper boundaries for interaction.  This is an unpaid internship. Click to read more. Updated July 11, 2016.

Social Adjustment Services Internship Dallas & Fort Worth

REFUGEE CASH ASSISTANCE INTERNSHIP DALLAS & Fort Worth

Refugee Services of Texas, Inc. in Dallas is seeking an organized and culturally sensitive intern to join its dynamic team either part-time or full-time in its Dallas office. A Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) intern works with clients who have been in the U.S. for less than eight months and are eligible to receive cash assistance. It is a great opportunity for anyone interested in working with foreign populations or financial systems. Cultural Orientation Internship
Dallas & Fort Worth

The Dallas and Fort Worth offices are looking to work with Cultural Orientation Interns for our Cultural Orientation workshops for newly arrived refugees. Refugees come to the United States with little knowledge of what life will be like post resettlement. Central American Minors Internship Dallas

The Dallas office is looking to work with Interns for our Central American Minors Programs. The CAM Program began in December 2014 as a response to undocumented children crossing into the United States. CASE AID INTERNSHIP FORT WORTH

The Case Aid Intern (Reception and Placement) will assist in the coordination of services for refugee clients, including housing, medical appointments, inter-agency referrals, files, and crises intervention. Internship duties consist of assisting newly arrived individuals with social services, cultural orientation, job development, and community integration. Public Health Internship
Fort Worth

The Public Health Intern will closely work with the Intensive Case Manager and Social Adjustment Case Manager transporting clients to doctor’s appointments, filling out SSI documents, and learning about the health care system specifically as it affects refugees in Fort Worth. Click here to read more. Posted August 13, 2015.
