Austin area clinic helps trafficking survivors

The Hope Through Health Clinic is the culmination of nearly 2 years of collaboration between Seton Family of Hospitals, CommUnityCare clinics, The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work, and Refugee Services of Texas. The Clinic encompasses wraparound trauma-informed care for trafficking survivors referred through Refugee Services of Texas from its own clientele or from other members of the Central Texas Coalition Against Human Trafficking. The Clinic opened in August 2013 and currently serves human trafficking survivors twice a month. It includes such services as OB/GYN, family medicine, psychotropic medications, life skills groups, and other various self-care and self-esteem services provided by vetted community volunteers.

Pierpont Communications, on behalf of Seton Family of Hospitals, arranged a media event to be held on May 13, 2014 and invited local television, radio, and print news to help spread the word about the Hope Through Health Clinic.
